The concept of this octopus was to create a multi-layered illustration to mimic its camouflage ability. Hawaiian elements such as the tattoo markings and plants that are native to the islands result in a very unique and mesmerizing piece. This illustration is a continuation of the Pueo (owl) I have uploaded on this profile.

For those unfamiliar with octopus dishes, poké (left) is a popular dish in Hawaii. Although, poké is usually made with fish, crab and octopus (tako poké) have been known to make great dishes. In Japan, takoyaki (right) is made by putting pieces of octopus and other ingredients in a batter.
